Bird family - Promeropidae and Arcanatoridae are basal branches that each go further back in time than almost any other extant lineage in the Passerida. Best to treat as two families pending confirmation of their sister relationship (Johansson et al. 2008a; Fjeldså 2012). Modulatricidae has priority over Arcanatoridae.
